The Bomboko are a Bantu-speaking people who live primarily on the eastern slopes of Mount Cameroon in the Southwest Region of Cameroon. Their homeland lies near the coastal city of Limbe, an area known for its fertile volcanic soils and abundant rainfall. The Bomboko language belongs to the Duala language cluster and is closely related to the languages of neighboring peoples along the coast and around Mount Cameroon.

For generations, the Bomboko have lived in villages scattered across the mountain foothills, where farming and community life have shaped their identity. What Are Their Beliefs?

What Are Their Needs?

The Bomboko need continued opportunities for educational, economic, and community development. Although some villages benefit from their proximity to urban centers, many families still face challenges related to employment, infrastructure, and access to resources that can improve quality of life.

Spiritually, there is a need for ongoing discipleship, leadership training, and biblical education. Churches can be strengthened through well-equipped leaders who are able to teach God's Word faithfully and help believers apply biblical principles to daily life. Greater access to Christian resources in local languages can also help strengthen the church.

As the Christian community matures, there is an opportunity for Bomboko believers to participate more actively in sharing the gospel with neighboring peoples who have little access to a Christian witness.
